MaryAnn Tywinski
MaryAnn, daughter of Kate (Bednarek) and Alex Lipinski, was born on Christmas Day, 1938, in Royal Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota. She was the youngest of six children and the only daughter among five brothers. MaryAnn joked that she could run faster than all her brothers—and even the other children at school. During her childhood, the family lived on two different farms in southwestern Minnesota. She graduated from Minneota High School in 1956. Following graduation, MaryAnn was enrolled in a program involving finance, accounting and a job at Community First Bank in Ivanhoe which brought her, Phyllis Lietz and Ruth Marczak together as students, co-workers and roommates. They went everywhere together and were described as the “Three Musketeers.”
