Brian Marten
Brian Carl Marten passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 23, 2026, at the age of 61 years and 9 months and 19 days from a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Saturday, August 1st at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm on Friday, July 31st at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN with a prayer service at 7pm and rosary to follow. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Ivanhoe. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel in Hendricks has been entrusted with the arrangements.

MaryAnn Tywinski
MaryAnn, daughter of Kate (Bednarek) and Alex Lipinski, was born on Christmas Day, 1938, in Royal Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota. She was the youngest of six children and the only daughter among five brothers. MaryAnn joked that she could run faster than all her brothers—and even the other children at school. During her childhood, the family lived on two different farms in southwestern Minnesota. She graduated from Minneota High School in 1956. Following graduation, MaryAnn was enrolled in a program involving finance, accounting and a job at Community First Bank in Ivanhoe which brought her, Phyllis Lietz and Ruth Marczak together as students, co-workers and roommates. They went everywhere together and were described as the “Three Musketeers.”

Arleen Paluch
Arleen Marie Paluch, age 94, of Lake Shaokatan, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Hendricks Hospital in Hendricks, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Burial will be in the St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Wilno. A Rosary will be at 4:30 pm with visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 pm followed by a 7:00 pm Prayer Service on Wednesday, July 22nd at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Visitation will resume Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.

Leona Thooft
Leona Marie Thooft was born on March 22, 1929 to Maurice and Helene (Slembroeck Apsomer) Laleman in Minneota, Minnesota. While growing up Leona was baptized and confirmed at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Minneota. She attended school at District 77 and graduated from Minneota High School. After high school, she furthered her education by attending Canby Normal School to obtain her teaching degree, completing her training in 1947. Leona was united in marriage on June 7, 1950 to the love of her life, Amandus Thooft, at St. Edwards Catholic Church. This marriage was blessed with 15 children together. They first lived on a farm north of Lynd, then moved to the family farm north of Tyler, Minnesota in the spring of 1955. After raising her family, Leona dedicated 17 years of working at the Tyler Nursing Home, continuing her passion for caring for others. Leona passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Avera Tyler Hospital in Tyler, at the age of 97 years, two months and six days. Her legacy of love will live on in each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Chris Nibbe "Nibbe", age 51, of Lake Benton, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home.
