CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Youth Religious Formation Program
For Children Ages 3–6
WHAT IS CGS?
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based religious formation program for children, beginning with age 3-6.
It is rooted in:
· The Bible
· The Liturgy of the Church
· The educational principles of Maria Montessori
We have a good start on the materials needed to set up our atrium, but additional materials will be needed as the children progress through the program. A list of materials still needed is posted below.
📅 CLASSES BEGIN
Wednesday, September 23 • 6:15 PM
Ss. Peter and Paul Church • Ivanhoe
Classes will meet September 23 & 30, and then continue on the first 3 Wednesdays of each month.
Time: 6:15–7:30/7:45 PM
Children of all members of the Christ the King Area Faith Community are welcome!
Because it is not practical to move the atrium from parish to parish, all classes will be held in the Ivanhoe building.
❤️ WHY DO WE CALL IT AN “ATRIUM”?
In the early Church, the faithful were prepared for entry into a special place for spiritual life called the atrium.
Our atrium is a special environment where children can come to know Jesus, work and speak with Him, and grow in their faith.
The atrium leads to the church.
